Yahoo and Today-Then-Tomorrow

The last year has seen great strides in new directions with the advent of the mobile, podcast, music and video demand from the worldwide population. These sectors are making all the exciting and innovative demands from Yahoo that the early innovations did, a great example of progress is the new compatibility of Yahoo mail to the popular MSN mail systems enabling a truly worldwide communication system that cuts all community boundaries and reaches a far more complete audience.

This again shows what an innovative and forward thinking philosophy Yahoo lives by and is no doubt inherited from those first days back in the campus trailer. This commitment to continually push back the boundaries of technology and innovation will serve Yahoo well in the coming months and years, on a commercial front Yahoo is backed by a new and streamlined advertising platform so the capability to rival Google’s advertising model is greatly enhanced.

The new platform is codenamed ‘Panama’ and is due for release early in 2007 (first quarter,) in addition they are also testing the serving of adverts to mobile phones which again shows why Yahoo have grown whilst others have wilted and died.

Of course all this revenue generating technology is also the driving force behind the research and development, the R&D is what delivers all the new innovative solutions to the Yahoo community.

The future for Yahoo and the Yahoo community is bright and exciting.
