Onkyo’s latest technological offering is hitting Europe just in time for Christmas, and it is certainly something that you’ll want to see wrapped in tinsel under your tree. The DV-BD606 Blu-ray Disc Player has a spec that is set to match the high standards set by other Onkyo home cinema kits. The player has been specifically designed to be compatible with the company’s own A/V receiver to deliver a high quality experience that boasts a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) processing speed of 1080p, combined with full Dolby decoding.
To see this in your stocking will set someone back just short of 400 GBP; and although not exactly cheap, you do pay for what you get with a high spec player. The DV-BD606 and its counterparts, such as the Pioneer LX71 and the Panasonic BD50, offer a top of the range HD home cinema experience capable of DivX playback and up scaling of standard definition. The only drawback with Onkyo’s latest release is the lack of an internet connection function that is becoming commonplace in other players; however, this is a small sacrifice for what could be one of the best Blu-ray Disc Players on the market.
