Search Engine Marketing

What could be worse than having your website kicked out of Google by Google? This is probably the most devastating thing that can happen in any search engine marketing (SEM) campaign and will instantly start to have detrimental effect on your bottom line. When your site is banned from a search engine like Google, it may feel like that there is very little you can do to rectify the situation. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The steps to take for Google reconsideration over your site are simple and effective.

These steps require the webmaster to take some time researching and identifying the underlying reasons behind the ban, before making an application for reinclusion. The process will take some time but it is likely to be the only possible solution to bring your site back into active index. The following five points will help guide those unfortunate few to begin making their application.

Google Reconsideration Tips

1. Remove all areas of the site that did not abide by Google webmaster guidelines. Identify these problem areas and make sure that they are removed immediately.
2. Explain in detail, being sure to take your time on this, the changes you have made to correct the website and provide evidence of the changes made.
3. You will also need to explain the reasons why you feel the site was removed and why Google had placed the penalties against you.
4. If you feel that the penalties were unfairly placed upon you, mention this in your appeal giving the reasons why, e.g. the domain name is new and the penalties were placed before you bought it.
5. Finally, once you have completed the application double check over everything before submission. Look over and read through the Google Webmaster guidelines, making sure that your application abides by their rules and you have not missed anything. Never rush anything and take your time to make sure there are no mistakes.

Upon submission you will expect to wait at least a couple of weeks (or more) for the re-evaluation process to be complete, so be patient and wait to be contacted so you know what step to take next.
